In today’s world there is an increasing requirement to communicate your message through some form of presentation. Partners In Performance is the Canadian distributor of UPFRONT Persuasion, a presentation skills workshop where you will learn to prepare, construct and deliver presentations with professionalism, authority and confidence.

The workshop is being used by Fortune 500 companies worldwide including Hewlett-Packard, which selected the program contents for their global curriculum. UPFRONT Persuasion is based upon the premise that any credible, powerful, persuasive presentation must be Clear, Concise and Compelling — core concepts that are reinforced throughout the program. During the workshop you will develop ‘real time’ content and have multiple opportunities to practice delivery and get high quality feedback through videotaping, one-on-one coaching and group feedback.

UPFRONT Persuasion – Outline:

Groundwork – preparing yourself thoroughly

  • Learn self-management techniques to overcome fear and feel more comfortable
  • Identify audience needs and opportunities to create relevance
  • Anticipate and be ready for questions and objections
  • Clarify your desired outcome and the key points of your presentation
  • Use a tool (Presentation MAP) to easily structure your content

Engage – engaging and connecting with your audience

  • Learn how to structure your opening to set the stage and provide clear direction
  • Capture your audience’s attention by addressing the 5 critical questions on the minds of your audience
  • Learn how to captivate your audience instantly

Develop – creating concise content that is targeted and compelling

  • Learn how to focus your key points so that you will not overwhelm your audience
  • Discover how to use convincing elements to bring your key points to life
  • Learn transition skills to create logical flow

Close – closing for action

  • Learn to capture the essence of your message
  • Develop clear communication that results in action and desired outcomes
  • Learn to close with impact

Delivery Skills – refining your delivery to enhance your message

  • Receive videotaped feedback and coaching on voice quality, proper eye contact and body movements
  • Eliminate distracting filler words and gestures
  • Learn non-verbal behaviour that will make you interesting and compelling

Visual Aids – enhancing your message and staying connected with your audience

  • Learn to use visual aids properly (computer projection, flipcharts, handouts) to increase impact
  • Avoid the trap of Power Point dependence and reading slides

Questions and Answers – staying focused and calm during question period

  • Learn the P.A.U.S.E. technique to address both simple and challenging questions
